Regular competitions, judged by an experienced independent adjudicator are a welcome opportunity to improve the quality and variety of photographs made by all members. These competitions are split into two 'levels': Members and Advanced so whatever your level of skill your photographs can be judged against people of a similar ability.
Photographs can be submitted in either print or digital image format so even if you don't have a printer you can still take part. Themes: A series of themed photographs chosen by our members is also judged on a monthly basis.
Internal Competition Night
Each year the club runs an internal competition night, which is judged by the members themselves. This is an open competition for all members, without reference to the league they compete in for the Monthly Competitions. There are 4 sections in which to take part:
1. Print/Digital Image Competition
All photographs to have been taken at either Martin Mere, Leyland Motor Museum or on club practical night or outing.
2. Panel competition
There will also be a section for panels of three images on the theme of “My Special Day” which can be taken anywhere during the season.
3. Lecturette Competition
Any member may enter and present a short talk which is illustrated by their own digital or print images. There will be a maximum time limit of 10 minutes per
4. Digital AV competition
Any member may enter a digital AV. There will be a maximum of 10 minutes per person.
Members are encouraged and assisted in acquiring Internationally Recognised Awards from the Royal Photographic Society, as well as the Photographic Association of Great Britain (PAGB). There are several members who are Fellows of the Society.
